ABIGAIL This is my second wedding I’ve booked today that’s cancelled. PARKER I wanted you to know I’m opening a Flower Universe kiosk. ABIGAIL You know that flower war you didn’t want? Well.. you just got it. JOY The images used to just pop into my head but now they’re invading my dreams. JOY Beware the zenith of the red haloed moon. ABIGAIL Beware the zenith of the red haloed moon. GEORGE As the phases of the moon go, we’re in a waxing gibbous. JOY Can you gibbous a little more information? ABIGAIL Don’t snap at George. CASSIE Don’t snap at Joy. ABIGAIL Don’t snap at me. GEORGE Easy, kids, we have to stick together. ABIGAIL What just happened? JOY I think the red haloed moon just happened. GEORGE We have less than a week ‘til it reaches its zenith. ABIGAIL Meaning what? JOY Meaning we gotta find that second amulet. ABIGAIL The one that Patience and William took with them? JOY We don’t know that for sure. ABIGAIL We know it wasn’t in the hope chest. GEORGE But we still don’t know if it’s in Grey House. CASSIE I know a way to find out. CASSIE I’m gonna need that moon rock you got in the Middleton exchange. SAM Morning. SAM He said to no one. SAM You’re out early. CASSIE Oh yeah, I couldn’t sleep so I decided to go for a walk. SAM Something bothering you? CASSIE There is now. I completely forgot that it’s your first day back. SAM No big deal. CASSIE Yes it is. I, I feel terrible. SAM There’s no reason to feel terrible.. you can feel a little bad, just not terrible. CASSIE I’m gonna make you some French toast. SAM Wish I had time. CASSIE Well, you nervous? SAM You know, I just have to remind myself I’ve done this ten thousand times. CASSIE You’re gonna be great. SAM Says the woman who forgot today was even happening. CASSIE You’re never going to let me forget that, are you? SAM Never. See you later! GEORGE There’s my beautiful bride. GEORGE Happy Anniversary. MARTHA What’s this? I thought we agreed to exchange gifts tonight. TOM And I thought I’d surprise you. MARTHA Well, your surprise is no surprise at all. MARTHA Happy Anniversary. TOM You first. MARTHA Oh, my. TOM Something wrong? MARTHA Maybe you shouldn’t open yours right now. TOM Well, now I wanna open it. TOM Oh, my. MARTHA It’s really what’s on the inside that counts. TOM I’m more in love with you than ever. Infinite hugs and kisses, Martha. TOM Maybe you shouldn’t read yours right now. MARTHA I’m more in love with you than ever. Infinite hugs and kisses, Tom. TOM I guess after thirty-two years of marriage, there’s just no surprising each other. MARTHA I guess not. TOM Or maybe there is.. open your gift. MARTHA You mean my Countess Sophia perfume and my caramel sea salt clusters. TOM So much for surprising you. I bet you got me a new tie with whales on it. MARTHA Oh, Tom you’re exactly.. wrong. TOM I am? MARTHA Yes. A hundred percent. In fact, I got you the anniversary gift to top all anniversary gifts. TOM I can’t wait. MARTHA Well, you’re just going to have to until tonight. TOM Then I’ll see you tonight. STEPHANIE Looks intense. ABIGAIL He’s talking to his brother, Daniel. STEPHANIE I thought they hugged it out. ABIGAIL They did, but you never know what Daniel’s cooking up. DONOVAN You won’t believe what my brother’s cooking up. STEPHANIE We’re all ears. STEPHANIE Right. I can take a hint. ABIGAIL Is this about Daniel getting himself back to the Capitol? DONOVAN It’s about getting me to the State Capitol. ABIGAIL He wants to announce your bid for governor? DONOVAN He wants me to take over my district’s vacant senate seat. ABIGAIL Since when do you want to be a state senator? DONOVAN Since about five minutes ago. Daniels’ been talking to the committee and he’s almost certain their vote will go my way. ABIGAIL Which would get you one step closer to the governor’s mansion. DONOVAN How do you feel about moving to Springfield? ABIGAIL My family is here. My, my business is here. DONOVAN But your new husband might be there. ABIGAIL So we would start our marriage living apart? DONOVAN Well, it’s not my first choice, but if we have to, I know we could make it work.. I would come home every weekend. ABIGAIL It’s not my first choice, but I get that this is a great opportunity. DONOVAN So.. what are you saying? ABIGAIL I’m saying that I have a lot to think about. ZOEY Hey. JOY What do you think? ZOEY You’re talking about the paint, right? JOY You here for coffee? ZOEY I am here to ask you out on a second date. JOY You don’t mess around. ZOEY Better you learn that now. JOY Oh consider it learned. Where are you taking me? ZOEY Rock climbing. JOY Okay. You really don’t mess around. ZOEY You think you can handle it? DISPATCHER Engine 51, we’ve got an emergency Response code 12 in Apple Valley. ZOEY This is Taylor. Copy that. En route. JOY You’re going? ZOEY They need backup on a wildfire. JOY Apple Valley’s an hour from here. ZOEY It’s what I do. JOY What you do in Middleton. ZOEY Engine companies back each other up all the time. ZOEY Don’t worry. JOY Be careful. ZOEY I always am. MARTHA The anniversary gift to top all anniversary gifts. And I’ve got and I’ve got nada, zilch.. bupkes. CASSIE How about a compass? MARTHA Only if it’ll point me in the right direction. MARTHA This person led quite the adventurous life. CASSIE Yeah, he retired from expedition racing and he’s selling off his gear. MARTHA Expedition racing.. oh my. That sounds exciting.. and the perfect gift for my Tom. CASSIE Huh, I wouldn’t have thought of that. MARTHA Well, that’s why I make the big bucks. Anyways, lots of planning to do and no time to do it. Martha out. JOY What’s shakin’, Martha? MARTHA Me.. with excitement. CASSIE You’re not exactly shaking with excitement. JOY Zoey’s going to Apple Valley to help fight a wildfire. CASSIE A little more dangerous then getting a cat out of a tree. JOY I never thought about her actually fighting fires. CASSIE I remember when Jake would go to work everyday. JOY Did you ever get used to it? CASSIE I learned to accept it. JOY Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked. CASSIE No, it’s okay. I’m glad you did. CASSIE It’s not easy, but the time I had with Jake.. meant everything. JOY Thanks. CASSIE Yeah. ADAM L’Academie des Friandises.. STEPHANIE Wow. You’re like a cat. ADAM I like the focus. STEPHANIE A friend helped me realize that I needed to zero in on my goals. ADAM Good friend. STEPHANIE Great friend. Unfortunately, I have less than 48 hours to get this in. ADAM Well can’t you fill it out online? STEPHANIE I could, but I’m old school. ADAM I get it. Well, how ‘bout you dictate and I’ll type. STEPHANIE Old school with a modern twist.. I like that. STEPHANIE What I don’t like is this essay question. ADAM What is your most meaningful baking experience? STEPHANIE Been staring at it for an hour. ADAM Not optimal. STEPHANIE I’ve just never really been a good test taker. ADAM Well it’s not really a test. STEPHANIE No, just the key to fulfilling my dream. ADAM You may be putting too much pressure on yourself. Alright, how ‘bout we ease into it.. start at the top. STEPHANIE I think I can handle that. ADAM Uh oh. STEPHANIE What’s uh oh about filling in my name? ADAM It says here that you have to be in Paris for a baking audition tomorrow. STEPHANIE Uh oh. STEPHANIE How did I miss that? ADAM One of the pitfalls of going old school. ADAM I’d look at this as a speed bump, not a roadblock. STEPHANIE Actually.. it’s a blessing. Now I have a year to figure out what to write for this essay. ADAM Blessing it is. DOTTY Isn’t this a lovely place. CASSIE Well this is a nice surprise. DOTTY Thank you. Mmmm.. tangerine? CASSIE With a hint of lemongrass. DOTTY Perhaps I should get Martha and Tom an assortment of soaps for their anniversary. CASSIE If you’re open to suggestions.. DOTTY Oh, yes. CASSIE This is scented with lavender and frankincense. Burning it creates a calming atmosphere and inspires open communication. DOTTY Well, it’s quite lovely but, the words calm and Martha have never been uttered in the same sentence. CASSIE Well, I’m sure we can find the right gift. DOTTY Do you think this could work for Davis and I? CASSIE I’ve never known it not to. DOTTY It would certainly be nice to get back in sync. CASSIE Yeah, well if it helps, every couple was a little out of sync at some point. DOTTY Well, I’d say it’s fortuitous that I dropped by. I’ll take this.. and a basket of those soaps for Martha and Tom. CASSIE Okay. GRANT There he is. First surgery back. How ya feel? SAM Like a Monday. GRANT That’s what I wanna hear. SAM Thank you. What I wanna hear is where we are with the funding on the new MRI suite, and get up to speed on this new member of the board of trustees, and talk about Dr. Berlin’s extended sabbatical. GRANT Woah, woah slow down there, Super Doc. You don’t have to dive back in head first. SAM There’s no reason not to. GRANT Look, from one type A to another, I get it but you just had a pretty major injury-- SAM --Had is the optimum word. GRANT Just do me a favor, and don’t overdo it. SAM You know me better than that. GRANT I do. Oh man.. I’m sorry. SAM I’m fine. GRANT Okay. CASSIE This is the blueprint from when I restored Grey House. CASSIE Now we just need candles in each corner. GEORGE I guess this is where I come in. JOY Looks like the Middleton exchange really does give you what you need. ABIGAIL We’ll light the candles. GEORGE What have you got up your sleeve, kiddo? CASSIE The principle that opposites attract. JOY The red haloed moon being our adversary.. ABIGAIL Will be drawn to the amulet, our protector. CASSIE Or at least it’ll be drawn to where it is on the blueprint. GEORGE I’m no Merriwick, but that looked like all rock and no roll to me. JOY Maybe the rock’s wrong. CASSIE It’s not. ABIGAIL Patience took the amulet with her after all. ABIGAIL That’s a beautiful arrangement. MARTHA Abigail.. what a pleasant surprise. ABIGAIL It shouldn’t be. I’ve been delivering flowers to City Hall every Monday for the last five years.. not these of course, but I’m sure you know that already. MARTHA Did I forget to call you? ABIGAIL You did, but apparently you didn’t forget to call.. lemme guess, Flower Universe. MARTHA As mayor, it’s my duty to support all of Middleton’s businesses especially the new ones. ABIGAIL Well, since you failed to cancel twenty- four hours in advance, I’m charging you anyway. MARTHA Well then. How’s this for advanced notice.. consider all my future orders null and void. ABIGAIL Are you serious? MARTHA What can I say.. Flower Universe made me an offer, I couldn’t refuse.. SAM What’re you watching? CASSIE A llama stealing a guys toupee. CASSIE Pretty late. Busy first day back? SAM Nonstop. CASSIE How’d it go? SAM Great. CASSIE Lot of one word answers. That’s your tell. SAM My tell? CASSIE Usually means the opposite. CASSIE You’re a little sore and a little tired. SAM I’m a little sore and a little tired. CASSIE You know, you don’t have to dive back in head first. SAM That’s what Grant said. CASSIE Are we right? SAM No. I heard it. A one word answer. CASSIE I want you to make me a promise. SAM I won’t overdo it. CASSIE I didn’t hear I promise. SAM I promise. CASSIE Thank you.. now I have a date for the Tinsdale’s anniversary event. SAM Did I just get played? CASSIE You know me better than that. SAM I do.. show me the llama video. STEPHANIE Okay. ADAM Somebody’s got a serious sweet tooth. STEPHANIE Perfect timing. Grab a spoon and stir. ADAM Okay. ADAM Which one? STEPHANIE Oh. The chocolate mousse. STEPHANIE That’s the cheese soufflé. ADAM So then what’s that? STEPHANIE That’s cherries jubilee. ADAM I’m so confused. STEPHANIE Okay, well why don’t you just come and mix this opera cake? ADAM I have a better idea. How ‘bout, how ‘bout we put down our implements and we take a break. STEPHANIE I have a rum baba in the oven. ADAM Can I take a guess here. Not being able to audition for L’Académie des Friandises was not quite the blessing you claimed it was. STEPHANIE Turns out it was more of a curse. STEPHANIE Text from Martha. ADAM She wants us to come to something called-- STEPHANIE A sweetheart sprint. ADAM Aw, it’s a secret anniversary surprise for Tom. STEPHANIE She’s inviting all their favourite couples. STEPHANIE We’re not a couple anymore. ADAM We’re not a couple anymore. STEPHANIE I know you’re not a couple anymore, but you’re the sweetest of friends and that certainly counts. ADAM Is she watching us? STEPHANIE Yeah. STEPHANIE Should we go? ADAM It’s a, it’s a voice message. MARTHA It wouldn’t be the same without you. MARTHA I’ll take those pearly whites as a yes. Oh, and save me one of those delectable looking macaroons. STEPHANIE Oh. ADAM Okay, she is definitely watching us. STEPHANIE Definitely. ABIGAIL I’ll be right out. ABIGAIL What are you doing here? PARKER Obviously, customer service isn’t your strong suit, probably why your shop’s empty. ABIGAIL No, empty will be when I toss you out. PARKER The gloves don’t have to come off. ABIGAIL Are you packing up your little kiosk and moving on? PARKER This town likes its flowers.. which means I like this town. ABIGAIL Well then, we’re right back where we started.. what’re you doing here? PARKER Looking for a brick and mortar location.. and I still like what yours has to offer. ABIGAIL It’s not for sale. PARKER Everything is for sale. ABIGAIL This is thirty percent lower than your first offer. PARKER Your shop was a lot more successful when I made that offer. ABIGAIL This was your endgame all along. PARKER Eleven shops and counting. ABIGAIL Well I won’t be number twelve. PARKER We’ll see. PARKER If I walk out, that next offer will be ten percent lower. PARKER I’ll take that as a no.. for now. SAM I think they’re playing good cop/ bad cop. GRANT More like bad cop/bad cop, they’re gonna pull the funding. SAM Give me five minutes and I’ll meet you in your office. GRANT Oh, hey Cassie. CASSIE Hey, Grant. GRANT Good to see you. CASSIE You too. GRANT Five minutes? SAM I forgot to text you, didn’t I? CASSIE Sounds like you also forgot you made a promise. SAM Oh, I think the Tinsdales will understand. CASSIE Not the Tinsdales you need to worry about. SAM I’m fine. CASSIE You’re overdoing it. SAM It comes with the job. CASSIE It’s your second day back. SAM What do you want me to do? CASSIE I think it’s pretty obvious. SAM I will try to get out of here as soon as possible. SAM That’s the ER. I gotta go. CASSIE I’m worried about you. SAM There’s nothing to worry about. I promise. CASSIE Oh. Stephanie just texted. MARTHA I knew it, they changed their minds, they’re not coming. CASSIE They’re just running late. MARTHA Oh, oh. The dot is in the driveway. Places everyone. SAMANTHA I thought we were. MARTHA Oh, right. Well.. just look alive. MARTHA Quick. Come in before you ruin the surprise. TOM What’s everyone doing here? MARTHA Tom, why on earth did you come in through the kitchen? TOM I had a bag of groceries. What’s all this? MARTHA It’s the anniversary gift that you never saw coming. EVERYONE Surprise. TOM Well, I certainly am. What exactly is a Sweetheart Sprint? DOTTY In my case, it’s when Davis runs off to New York.. again. MARTHA The inaugural Sweetheart Spring is a couples race across our beloved Middleton. It’s four adventurous events at four iconic locations for all marbles.. a fabulous hot air balloon ride for two. TOM I can’t believe you did all this.. and I’m very glad you’re all here.. but I’ve got some bad news.. you’re all going down. That hot air balloon ride is ours. MARTHA Well, you heard the man. Everyone into the great room for the first event. DOTTY Happy Anniversary, I wish you both many happy returns, I’ll just slip out before the games begin. CASSIE And I’ll slip with you. Happy Anniversary. TOM I take it you two are flying solo? CASSIE Yeah, looks like we’re both work widows. TOM By my calculations, two solos equals a pair of sweetheart sprinters. MARTHA He’s right, you two should team up. DOTTY I guess there are worse ways to spend the day. CASSIE Well, with an invitation like that, how could I say no. MARTHA Then that’s settled.. we’re off to the races. DOTTY Thank you. MARTHA From here we’ll race to Grey House, then to The Bistro, the flower shop then back to The Bistro where the first team to fill the waiting loving cup with whipped cream will be crowned Sweetheart Sprint champions. GEORGE Whadda we do at each stop? MARTHA When you arrive at each location you’ll find the challenges clearly marked on a card just like the ones in front of you. ABIGAIL You’ve heard of scrambled eggs, how ‘bout scrambled quotes? JOY Unscramble this famous quote, put on your coat and head to the Grey Castle without a moat. DOTTY How lovely. DONOVAN I’m assuming you picked all the quotes? MARTHA Actually, Mayor Davenport, I had my assistant prepare all the quotes so that Tom and I could participate fairly and squarely. DOTTY How will we know when the quote is right? MARTHA I sent you all a link to an app. MARTHA When you think you’ve cracked the quote show it to the app and you’ll either get a fanfare or a buzz. The app will be the judge for all the challenges. Any other questions? MARTHA Alright then, on your marks, get set unscramble. DOTTY Okay, if I had to hazard a guess, I’d say it starts with my or there. CASSIE Sounds good. DOTTY Sounds to me like you’re not used to attending these couples parties solo. CASSIE Is it that obvious? DOTTY Only to a seasoned solo flyer. I’d like to tell you it gets easier. CASSIE Did you light the candle? DOTTY I did. CASSIE And did you and Davis get to talk? DOTTY We did not but to be fair, the candle had it’s work cut out for it. Davis and I.. we’ve built up quite a wall between us. DONOVAN My parents spend a lot of time apart and they have a great marriage. ABIGAIL I hate to break it to you, but we’re not Dotty and Davis. ABIGAIL But we are done with our quote. ABIGAIL Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction. DONOVAN Towards Springfield or Middleton? TOM Are you kidding me? JOY That was fast. DONOVAN Guess we’re in sync. JOY So, how was Apple Valley? ZOEY Took most of the day to get the fire under control. JOY Sounds pretty big. ZOEY Pretty typical. ZOEY We headed back to the fire house afterward, played some ping pong. Then Bryan made his three alarm chili. JOY I was really worried about you. ADAM Sorry we’re late. STEPHANIE Yeah, The Bistro was packed. ADAM We got the app that you sent us, where’s our quote? GEORGE You’re over here, Padre. Next to us. ADAM Alright. SAMANTHA What’re you doing? GEORGE I’m arranging the blocks in alphabetical order. I thought it might help us think more clearly. SAMANTHA I can see clearly that we have very different philosophies. GEORGE My philosophy is to win your heart. SAMANTHA Well if you wanna win my heart, we better win this race. GEORGE Okay. TOM Son of a biscuit. MARTHA Well you certainly made up for lost time. STEPHANIE Ah well, when you got it.. ADAM You got it.. we gotta go. DOTTY And I think we’re about to get it. MARTHA Son of a biscuit. ADAM Okay, okay. STEPHANIE Ready? ADAM Yes, yes, yes. DONOVAN Yes. Okay, two more. DONOVAN Are you serious? ABIGAIL Okay, someone is a little too into the Sweetheart Sprint. ABIGAIL I can’t believe this guy. DONOVAN Parker Jordan? ABIGAIL Yeah. He’s giving me one more chance to reconsider his insulting offer. DONOVAN Maybe you should. ABIGAIL Why would I do that? DONOVAN Might make your life easier. ABIGAIL You mean it would make your life easier. ADAM And here we go. ADAM Oh, man.. oh no. STEPHANIE Third time’s the charm? ADAM This is an exercise in perserverance.. oh, which just became this week’s sermon. STEPHANIE Don’t get discouraged, it is often the last key on the ring that opens the lock. ADAM That’s pretty good. Can I use it? STEPHANIE You’d have to ask Marnie. ADAM Who? STEPHANIE Marnie Phillips. I delivered a marble cake to her right after I got my first job as an apprentice at Swenson’s bakery. ADAM And she just gave you a random quote about perserverance? STEPHANIE She gave me quotes about a bunch of stuff. She was a retired English teacher. Anyway, I taught her how to make that cake. She baked one for her daughter, they hadn’t talked in a few years. Believe it or not, that cake is what brought them back together. ADAM Oh, I do believe it. I’ve tried your marble cake. STEPHANIE Okay, don’t breathe just get the app. ADAM Okay, okay. ADAM Hands. hands. TOM It’s about time. MARTHA Stop your dilly-dallying, we can at least catch up to Cassie and Dotty. ZOEY I put on my uniform and go to work, I don’t think twice about it. But when Avery and I would be on different shifts, she’d walk out the door and I was a nervous wreck. JOY But you learned to accept it. ZOEY Can you? GEORGE Whaddaya say, kid? SAMANTHA I say we ease on down the road. ADAM Looks like we’re decorating cakes. STEPHANIE Oh, those aren’t just any cakes. ADAM No. Is that your lemon chiffon? STEPHANIE The very cake I would’ve made for my baking audition, if I was actually at my baking audition. DONOVAN Welcome to challenge three, look at the cake on the counter and you’ll see exactly how to decorate me.. this is clearly rigged? ADAM Just ‘cause she’s a professional? STEPHANIE We’ll call it even when we get to the flower shop. ABIGAIL She’s got a point. DONOVAN Alright. I’ll start the icing, you start the flower things. DONOVAN What? ABIGAIL Just think of all the fun you’d be missing if you move to Springfield. JOY Looks like we have some catching up to do. CASSIE I know he’s struggling right now, he’s got a lot on his mind. DOTTY I remember the first excuse I made for Davis. That’s how it starts. CASSIE Sam.. SAM What’s goin’ on here? MARTHA Our anniversary Sweetheart Sprint. TOM Appreciate you letting us take over your kitchen. CASSIE Hey. SAM Hey. I just forgot my iPad. I think it’s upstairs.. Happy Anniversary. MARTHA Now ours looks good enough to eat, but yours looks too good to eat. TOM That thing belongs in the Louvre. ADAM Actually, it belongs at L’Academie des Friandises.. they don’t know what they’re missing. STEPHANIE Maybe I should show them. DOTTY You wanna talk about it? CASSIE I appreciate that but your son and future daughter in law have a question for you. DONOVAN Look, if you don’t believe me, ask my mother. DOTTY Ask me what? ABIGAIL Your son seems to think that you and Davis don’t have any problems being apart so much in your marriage. DOTTY And why are my son and future daughter- in-law discussing this? DONOVAN Well, I may be moving to Springfield for a job as a state senator. DOTTY Am I to assume you won’t be moving with him, Abigail? ABIGAIL We are considering all options. DOTTY Well, don’t consider the one that keeps you apart. It’s no way to start a marriage and it’s certainly no way to sustain one. DOTTY Your father and I.. we’ve grown steadily apart since the first day he hit the road. SAMANTHA Thank you, George. GEORGE We make a good team. SAMANTHA Slow and steady might not win this race, but it certainly helps you enjoy it more. GEORGE Never hurts to stop and smell the muffins. SAMANTHA You are a very sweet man. GEORGE Uh oh. SAMANTHA No uh oh, just an explanation.. when I lost my fiancé I knew I could never go through that again.. that meant that I could never allow myself to love like that again. GEORGE That’s a pretty tall order.. if you cut yourself off from that part of life, you may miss out on a lot. SAMANTHA Not if you stop and smell the muffins. SAMANTHA Get it. SAMANTHA Yes. GEORGE Hasta la vista, kiddos. ZOEY Well, it looks like we are officially in last place. ZOEY You can’t accept it, can you? JOY No, I can’t.. but I’m going to. ZOEY After everything that happened with Avery, I was so scared I’d never feel this way again. JOY There’s something I need to tell you. MARTHA Tom, you’re like the Baby Ruth of flower arranging. TOM I think you mean Babe Ruth.. Baby Ruth is a candy bar. MARTHA Either way, I had no idea you had such a green thumb. TOM It’s not as green as Abigail’s. ABIGAIL Apparently mine’s not green enough to provide flowers for city hll. MARTHA I refuse to engage, this is not the time to talk business. ABIGAIL Actually, this is the most business I’ve had all week. DOTTY I haven’t arranged my own flowers in quite some time. This should be a hoot. MARTHA Alright fine. If you’re gonna strong- arm me, you’ll get City Hall’s business for two weeks out of every month and Flower Universe will get the other two. ABIGAIL Well I wasn’t exactly strong-arming you, but I’ll take the deal. DONOVAN I know you don’t want to hear this, but that’s like putting a band aid on a broken arm. TOM It’s Catherine, our pots have been fired and are ready for pickup. CASSIE Well, you two take one of Catherine’s classes? MARTHA We took her wine and wheelin’ workshop. TOM I had my doubts, but I have to admit, it was quite enjoyable. ABIGAIL Vino and vases.. MARTHA What’s vino and vases? ABIGAIL What I’m gonna call my new flower arranging workshop. MARTHA Oh.. that’s very clever. DOTTY And very current. My friend Barbara tells me flower arranging workshops are all the rage. CASSIE Sign me up. ABIGAIL Hopefully I can sign a lot of people up. MARTHA Son of a biscuit. TOM Son of a biscuit. STEPHANIE Thank you.. merci..merci. I, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this. Okay. ADAM I take it she said yes. STEPHANIE After she got over the shock of being woken up at 3AM. ADAM That is amazing. We better get this cake in the mail. STEPHANIE We have a problem. ADAM No box? STEPHANIE No essay. ADAM Alright.. then let’s finish your application. STEPHANIE But.. I just, I still don’t know what I’m going to write about. ADAM Don’t be discouraged, it’s often the last key on the ring. STEPHANIE That opens the lock. STEPHANIE Marnie. STEPHANIE Alright. GEORGE Can I ask you somethin’? GEORGE If pie and ice cream is called pie a la mode, why is cake and ice cream just called cake and ice cream? SAMANTHA I never thought about that. GEORGE Hang around with me long enough, kid, you’ll start to think of these sort of things. DONOVAN Shall we? MARTHA Congratulations. You’re officially the first Sweetheart Sprint champions. ADAM Sounds like we have a winner. MARTHA Well, and I am proud to present you both with two tickets for a glorious hot air balloon ride over our beloved Middleton. ABIGAIL Actually those belong to you. CASSIE We all decided, no matter who won, we wanted the anniversary couple to have the tickets. MARTHA What a wonderful surprise. TOM There may be one more. While you were preparing this spring for me, I was working on a little something for you. MARTHA Oh my. TOM Would you all care to join us by the curtain please? STEPHANIE Okay. STEPHANIE I am so excited to share with all of you the official unveiling of the Joy Harper, redesigned and renovated restaurant. JOY Okay, well, see what you think about it first. STEPHANIE Okay, here it goes. MARTHA Oh my. That’s lovely. TOM We have the honor of being the first to celebrate here. MARTHA I never would have predicted this. ADAM Hey.. where’s the other half of Sassie? STEPHANIE That’s their ship name? I love it. CASSIE I’m gonna get some hor d’oeuvres. DONOVAN Why didn’t you tell me how hard it was for you with dad away so much? DOTTY Why didn’t you tell me you were considering becoming a state senator? DONOVAN You’re changing the subject. DOTTY We didn’t want you or your brother to have to worry. And I don’t want to have to worry about you two. Promise me you won’t enter this marriage living apart. ABIGAIL I promise you we’ll take what you said seriously. DOTTY Do better than that. DOTTY It’s been a long day. I’m gonna go. GEORGE We finally did it. SAMANTHA Can I ask you something? GEORGE Anything. SAMANTHA Will you go steady with me? GEORGE I thought you’d never ask, kid. SAM Those look good. SAM Okay.. what’s wrong? CASSIE Is that a real question? SAM Cassie, I had to work. CASSIE Did you? SAM You really wanna do this here? CASSIE No, well, there’s nothing to do. You broke a promise. SAM Why can’t you just accept the fact that I’m fine. CASSIE Because you’re not. SAM Oh, that’s right. Cassie Nightingale knows everything. ZOEY What happened? JOY Charlotte is a hotshot divorce lawyer, she worked a lot, which meant that I was alone a lot.. and I got close to one of my clients. ZOEY And you kissed her. JOY Yeah.. I would never do that to anyone else ever again. ZOEY I believe you. JOY But can you accept it? ZOEY No, I can’t.. but I’m going to. DONOVAN Thanks bro.. I appreciate you understanding. ABIGAIL Why do I feel so guilty? DONOVAN Because you should? ABIGAIL Way to make me feel worse. You can still change your mind. We can make it work. DONOVAN Not according to Dotty. DONOVAN I’m kidding. We will make it work. ABIGAIL What happens when you get elected governor? DONOVAN I like the sound of that. ABIGAIL I like the sound of that too, but we’re going to have to have this same conversation. DONOVAN But we’ll be having it as governor and first lady. DONOVAN Maybe you’ll feel differently then. ABIGAIL What if I don’t? DONOVAN Then we’ll figure that out but right now I just wanna sit back, sip our wine and enjoy being together. TOM Really outdid yourself today, Martha. MARTHA Bet you didn’t think that was possible. TOM With you, I know everything’s possible. MARTHA Oh, Tom.. I knew you were gonna say that. TOM Well I guess there’s something to be said for being predictable. MARTHA I can think of three words. TOM I love you? MARTHA Well, maybe you don’t know me as well as you think. I was going to say you’re my everything. TOM Oh, Martha. ABIGAIL What’s going on? JOY It’s the Merriwick plant. CASSIE What’s left of it.
