We're having it at the gala this year because it's the 200th anniversary of our competition with Blairsville. And we have a celebrity chef judging it. So we need it to be more than "something." GEORGE You have nothing to worry about Steph. We'll keep our criticism constructive. ABIGAIL Let's get to tasting. STEPHANIE Okay, well... At first, I thought the secret was to put the spice in the crust, but it turns out it was the spices that were off. So I subbed out rock salt for sea salt, did a little bit of experimenting a little pinch of this, a little pinch of that and I realized the secret is actually cardamom and a dash of Okay, you know what, just try it. GEORGE Not bad... not bad at all. NICK It's better than not bad. It's pretty good. GRACE Great. Really, really great. STEPHANIE Oh, for crying out loud, it doesn't hold a candle to Martha's, does it? ALL GRACE Look, Martha's pie always had that... sparkle. You know, like a unicorn sneezed glitter all over it. GEORGE That sounds appetizing. GRACE I mean in a good way! STEPHANIE I know what you mean, Grace. It's just missing that extra bit of magic that makes Martha's pie a winner. ABIGAIL Well, unless we can figure out how to make a unicorn sneeze magical glitter in the next two hours, our pie's gonna be a loser. CASSIE You actually look a little nervous. SAM I'm a surgeon. I don't get nervous. CASSIE So just a little bit? SAM Yup. ABIGAIL We lose this, my recall election will be short and swift. CASSIE Is that Dr. Frankenstein? SAM Stethoscope too much? There are mining tunnels all over Middleton. It makes sense that there's a secret passage. You already knew about this, didn't you? CASSIE What I know is that love always finds a way.
