ABIGAIL BRANDON CASSIE DAVE DOMINIC EMMA EVE GAVIN GEORGE GRACE HOMEOWNER JARED LIAM MARINE_LEADER MARTHA NARRATOR NICK PHIL REALTOR RYAN SAM SERVER STEPHANIE SUPERVISOR NARRATOR Previously on "Good Witch". LIAM So I was wondering if you think Stephanie would want to go out with me? ABIGAIL I think the two of you would be fantastic together. LIAM Really? CASSIE What about you, Martha? What would you wish for? MARTHA Oh, I would just wish for what every mayor wants: Just one day without people wanting so many moments of my time. PHIL I'm sorry, Abigail, I know we kind of had something started here but I found a place in Portland. ABIGAIL Okay then. SAM So this wedding's actually coming together. CASSIE Piece of cake. Life is a risk. So I'm going to love you as if each day is the only one we have. SAM Sounds like the perfect way to start a life together. STEPHANIE Ah, there's the happy couple! Soon to be the happy married couple. CASSIE A few more days. STEPHANIE Are you excited for the wedding? SAM Can't you tell? This is my excited face. STEPHANIE It looks just like your regular face. SAM Well, there's a lot going on beneath the surface. STEPHANIE So when do your guests start getting here? CASSIE My friend, Olympia, arrives from Chicago tomorrow. SAM And my sister gets here the day after that. STEPHANIE Excellent. And I keep forgetting to ask you: where are you going for your honeymoon? CASSIE We haven't decided yet. STEPHANIE Shouldn't you have plans already? SAM Cassie travelled the whole world without making any plans, we thought we might wait until we were married and then just see where the wind takes us. CASSIE Ooh, like a hot air balloon ride over the African desert. SAM I wasn't being literal about that "wind" thing. CASSIE I'm just saying it's an option. NICK Who's gonna go first? GRACE Either one. You should probably go first, because my maid-of-honor speech is going to be so good that you really won't want to give yours right after. NICK How do you know yours is going to be so good? GRACE Because I'm almost finished writing mine, and you haven't even started your best man speech. NICK And how did you know that? GRACE Because you never start anything in advance. NICK Okay, I could say, "That's not true," but I can't think of anything that makes it not true, so that's true. GRACE Yeah. SAM Hey guys. Cassie and I were about to have high tea. You want to join us? GRACE Sure. STEPHANIE Great. We just had a table cleared and it's getting set up. SAM "Radford, party of four?" NICK That's us... CASSIE I'll be right there. SAM Okay. CASSIE Have you seen Liam since the party at Grey House? I noticed he gave you a ride home. STEPHANIE He did. And then we sat outside my house until three o'clock in the morning, just talking. CASSIE So it was worth the trip. STEPHANIE It really was. You know, we've been so busy getting things ready for your wedding that we haven't had a chance to talk since. CASSIE Well, I hope whatever each of you says gets the reception you're looking for. STEPHANIE Just as soon as we figure out what to say. CASSIE Or maybe you won't need any words at all. MARTHA Oh, hello, George. GEORGE Martha. What are you doing so far from the center of town? MARTHA Wedding gift shopping for Cassie and Sam. Now normally I would just whisk in and out of Bell, Book and Candle but I obviously can't go there. Still, I'm determined to find the perfect gift. GEORGE Well, I hope your hunt is successful. MARTHA Excuse me... What do you think you're doing? SUPERVISOR The mayor told us to put some new benches along this avenue. MARTHA I most certainly did not. SUPERVISOR Our mayor. In Blairsville. MARTHA What? GEORGE Maybe we're farther from the center of town than we thought... MARTHA But I know Middleton and this is still Middleton. Beautiful Blairsville. The only beautiful thing about Blairsville is when you get to leave. GEORGE I don't know. They've got a pretty decent hardware store there. MARTHA Really, they should make that their town motto. CASSIE Hello, Sam. SAM Hi. CASSIE What's all that? SAM I thought I'd go ahead and bring some things over so I can move in right after we get back from our honeymoon. CASSIE "Muscular Degeneration in the Shoulder -- Volumes One and Two"? SAM But the story really gets good in volume three. I've got a few shelves of medical books, if you have room. CASSIE I just happened to have cleared some space. SAM They'll fit perfectly right there. CASSIE You know, this is all starting to feel real. SAM What's that? CASSIE You, being here. Being us. Oh, did I tell you about the flowers? I saw a garden full of Cyclamens the same color as the ones I saw when we were looking for my dress. So, I was going to ask the owner of the house if they would let us have them. SAM You're gonna ask if you can pick their flowers? CASSIE They are really perfect. SAM So, exactly the right flower in the exactly the right color just blooming at exactly the right time? CASSIE Exactly. SAM Well, I guess we chose the right week to get married. Whoa! DOMINIC Shhh, I'm hiding from the monster! SAM Sorry. DOMINIC Maybe I should hide over there. CASSIE You can hide anywhere you want. DOMINIC We're pretending my brother is a monster. But he won't find me back here. GAVIN Roar! Roar! DOMINIC Oh, no! The monster found me! GAVIN I'm going to get you. DOMINIC Not if I'm the monster now! GAVIN Angh! DOMINIC Roar! SAM Is it always like this around here? CASSIE You've been at my house when it was full of guests before. SAM Yeah, but the guests are usually on their way out, or when things are winding down... when it's mostly just the two of us. CASSIE Well, now you'll get to experience Grey House all the hours of the day. When it's full of life. CASSIE See? Life! SAM Oh yeah, I see it. I just didn't realize life could be so crowded. STEPHANIE Cassie, this is my sister, Emma. Emma, this is Cassie. CASSIE So nice to meet you. EMMA You, too. STEPHANIE Emma's getting married, too, in a few months. CASSIE Oh, and is your fiancé a Marine, as well? EMMA How did you know that I was in the military? STEPHANIE You should get used to the fact that Cassie just sort of knows things about people. CASSIE And you have a big sister who's very proud of your service and she tells me that you recently made captain. EMMA My fiancé is a marine. He's a first lieutenant. STEPHANIE Which means she outranks him. CASSIE That could come in handy in a marriage. EMMA Oh yeah, I plan to use it when I have to. There's a really beautiful place that we might want to have the wedding just a few miles from here, so I'm scouting it out and reporting back. STEPHANIE I'm just happy it worked out that she's here to help me get ready for your wedding. CASSIE Well, you two will have fun, cooking together... like you did with your grandmother. EMMA Did you tell her about that? STEPHANIE I don't remember that I did. CASSIE Hmm.... Well, I'm glad you stopped by, because I thought of one more thing to add to what you're already serving at the reception. I have this recipe for Saffron Shrimp that I first tried at a restaurant in Damascus. It's a bit complicated, but... STEPHANIE We can do this, no problem. CASSIE Okay, great. STEPHANIE So, when do I get to meet this Marine of yours? EMMA I was really hoping we could get here at the same time but -- you'd have to talk to our commanding officers about lining up our schedules. STEPHANIE And I don't think I'm powerful enough to be listened to by the United States Marines. EMMA Yeah, I wish I knew someone who was. ABIGAIL Brandon, you're a police officer. Can you do something about this tree? BRANDON Only if it's stealing your purse. ABIGAIL It's starting to block my sign. Pretty soon, all anybody's going to be able to read is "Abigail's ow." Who do I talk to about getting it trimmed back? BRANDON The city council has someone who takes care of those requests. ABIGAIL Do I have to make an appointment at city hall? BRANDON Don't worry, I'm sure they'll find time for the owner of Abigail's ow. GRACE Sam. Hi. SAM Hey. Have you seen a book that I left here about the intricacies of the respiratory system? GRACE Sorry, I'm more into Harry Potter. SAM I need it for a consult. GRACE Oh, well, one of the guests might have taken it. My mom, she lets people borrow whatever they want down here. You learn that anything that's not nailed down pretty much disappears. SAM Well, it must be hard to keep track of where you put your stuff. GRACE You get used to it. Just one of the things about living at Grey House. CASSIE I just drove by here yesterday. HOMEOWNER Well, you should have stopped then. CASSIE This whole area was covered with Cyclamens. HOMEOWNER I know. They were taking over the whole yard so I got out here with the weed wacker. CASSIE So, there are none of them left? HOMEOWNER Just what's in the wheelbarrow. CASSIE Oh. HOMEOWNER I don't even know how those things got into my yard. I didn't plant them; they just sprouted up. CASSIE Yeah, they hardly grow anywhere when it's this cold. HOMEOWNER Good, 'cause I don't want 'em back. MARTHA You need a tree trimmed? ABIGAIL Yes, so it doesn't cover my sign. ABIGAIL Brandon said there was somebody on city council who handles that? MARTHA Well, there was until last week, when Melissa Glenn retired. ABIGAIL So, who am I supposed to speak to? MARTHA Whoever fills her seat. ABIGAIL And that would be...? MARTHA To be determined by the upcoming election. ABIGAIL When is that? MARTHA End of the year. ABIGAIL End of the year? My shop could be taken over by a forest by then. MARTHA Oh, honestly, this is the least of my problems right now, what with the city of Blairsville encroaching on everything that we Middletonians know to be good and holy. ABIGAIL Isn't there some way we can get that seat filled before the election? MARTHA Well, a temporary council representative can be appointed by a person of authority. ABIGAIL And who has that authority? MARTHA The mayor, Dear. MARTHA This meeting will now come to order. Before we begin I want to officially introduce our newest council member, who has been appointed to take on the duties of Melissa Glenn. So please welcome -- Councilwoman Abigail Pershing! Now, the first item on our agenda is to elect a new council president. ABIGAIL You people don't even have a leader? MARTHA Of course we do -- me. But the original charter set up a system of checks and balances that we pay lip service to so... anybody want the job? Oh, come on now, people. Somebody has to do it. ABIGAIL Well, while we're waiting to figure that out, can we talk about trimming back my tree? JARED Not until we have a president. ABIGAIL What if I volunteer for the job? MARTHA You want to be council president? ABIGAIL I want people to be able to read my sign, so if that's what it takes... MARTHA It will certainly move things along. Hearing no objections? Councilwoman Pershing will serve as president. ABIGAIL So hail to the me. MARTHA Now can we just zip through the rest of our agenda so I have time to think about what I'm getting Sam and Cassie for their upcoming wedding. ABIGAIL How about a big tree branch from in front of my shop? We can put a bow on it and say it's a gift from all of us. JARED Madam President... Madam President? ABIGAIL Oh right, that's me. JARED You're in charge of landscaping and beautification. If you want something done, you can approve it, if there are no objections. ABIGAIL Does anybody object to me sawing off a branch? Then so moved? MARTHA Done! ABIGAIL Ooh, can I do the gavel next time? MARTHA You try it and I'll be using it on you. CASSIE How much of this did you need? STEPHANIE I think we better take all of it. We're making a lot of shrimp. CASSIE Well, in that case, here you go. EMMA I think we've got just about everything. Except the -- Iranian saffron. CASSIE That's a very special seasoning that makes the dish so unique. STEPHANIE Where are we supposed to get that? CASSIE I have a friend who lives in the Middle East, and she sends me a shipment of fresh spices each month and the next shipment is actually due tomorrow. And there's always Iranian saffron in there. STEPHANIE Great. Then we will have everything we need. Is Ryan going to be able to swing through town while we're getting things ready? EMMA It doesn't look like it. STEPHANIE Emma's fiancé got called for a training exercise at a base just on the other side of the state line. EMMA He was hoping his unit might be passing through Middleton but it's not. CASSIE Well, maybe he can make it here some other time. So that the two of you can experience all the romance this town has to offer. STEPHANIE Oh. Liam. LIAM Stephanie. STEPHANIE This is my sister, Emma. LIAM Ah. The Marine, right. EMMA Okay, does my sister tell everyone? LIAM She's very proud. Cassie. I brought some champagne to try, for the wedding reception. CASSIE I'll get some glasses. LIAM Did you want to join us? STEPHANIE You know, we would love to, but we have a lot of work to do. LIAM Oh. Then some other time. STEPHANIE When things slow down. CASSIE Great. NICK "And so, a toast -- not the kind with bread, but with whatever you have in your glass. To my dad and -" GRACE Nick? NICK Grace. I can read you the rest later. GEORGE I can't wait to hear how it ends. GRACE What was going on? GEORGE Nick just wanted to try out his "best man" speech on me. GRACE So he finally started working on it. What did it say? GEORGE I think he wants that to be a surprise. But it was really very good. Very heartfelt and spur-of the-moment. GRACE Well, I structured mine to make sure it built on a theme. Sort of like an English essay, so… GEORGE It's a wedding reception, Grace, not a mid-term. GRACE Do you think I should rewrite it? REALTOR Have you done any recent upgrades? SAM I haven't really needed to. The house was like this when I bought it. I just punched in the key code and moved right in. REALTOR Well, it's in wonderful condition. SAM Yeah, I was lucky to find it. And I really learned to love my neighbor. REALTOR What's the timeline for the sale? SAM I'm not in any big hurry, it's just -- after this weekend I won't be living here anymore. REALTOR Where are you moving to? SAM Not very far. The house next door. I'm getting married. REALTOR Congratulations. SAM Thank you. REALTOR But I thought that house was a bed and breakfast? SAM It is but... I'll be living there, now, too. REALTOR Then that will be a big change. SAM It will. REALTOR I'll write up a listing and get it on the market right away. But a house like this, with so much space and privacy? I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't want to call this place their home. SAM Yeah. Yeah, I really did like it here. CASSIE I always look forward to getting one of these packages from my friend, and then making delicious meals with whatever she sent me. That's weird. It's not in here. STEPHANIE What? CASSIE The Iranian saffron. That was the main thing we needed for the dish. STEPHANIE Well, can we get more before the wedding? CASSIE No. And the recipe won't be the same without it. EMMA That's too bad because we've already bought everything on here. Which is exactly what we need for shrimpie wraps. STEPHANIE Really? EMMA Yeah. CASSIE What are shrimpie wraps? STEPHANIE Ravioli with shrimp and lemon cream sauce. Our grandmother used to make it all the time and Emma calls them "shrimpie wraps". She wanted to make them every time we were at grandma's house. EMMA They're my favorite food ever. CASSIE It sounds like I might like it. STEPHANIE Maybe we could make them for the reception. EMMA I wish we had that special ravioli roller our grandma got from her grandma. STEPHANIE Sure, but where are we going to find one of those? CASSIE I have some cooking utensils over here. Maybe you'll find something that'll work? EMMA I don't know. Grandma was pretty specific about how she wanted things to be. STEPHANIE Every ravioli had to be even and the right size, which is why she used a roller -- just like this one. EMMA That's pretty much exactly like Grandma's. CASSIE Then the two of you should be experts on how to handle it. STEPHANIE We'll get right to work. CASSIE I just hope you'll still have time to join us at the rehearsal dinner tomorrow. STEPHANIE Where's that going to be? CASSIE Liam's hosting it at the microbrewery. EMMA Oh, Liam's hosting. STEPHANIE Stop it... I would love to. Thanks. And thanks for this. Martha. MARTHA Watch where you step out there. You wouldn't want to trip over an illegally-placed Blairsville bench. CASSIE Hello, Martha. How are things in our fair little town? MARTHA We're at war, actually, fending off marauding invaders who are trying to claim our land. CASSIE So... not good? MARTHA I can understand why anyone who lived in Blairsville would rather be living in Middleton but this town is only big enough for one town, and we're it! But let's talk about something more pleasant shall we -- like your wedding gift. Because I'm still looking for suggestions about what to get you. CASSIE Just that you're thinking about the two of us is gift enough. MARTHA You can't be serious? "Thinking about" doesn't count as much of a gift. Unless that was the gift... Cassie, your words have inspired me once again! CASSIE What'd I say? MARTHA Well, you'll certainly be thanking me on your wedding day, so I'll just say this in advance: You're welcome. NICK I didn't even know the sink needed to be fixed. GEORGE I don't think your dad did, either. But Cassie noticed there was a drop and knew we had one of these doo-hickeys to fix it. NICK What's a doo-hickey? GEORGE It's kind of a whatchamacallit. I'm surprised you're not still working on your best man speech. NICK Nah, I'm pretty much done. GEORGE Grace has been working on hers, night and day. NICK Really? GEORGE Oh, yeah. She's practically glued to the computer. By the way, have you figured out what you're going to call me? When your dad marries Cassie. You're going to become the stepson of my daughter's husband's wife. NICK I was thinking I might just keep calling you "George." GEORGE I think it's probably simpler that way. SAM When will they let you book another flight? But that's after we get married. Well, let's talk after you get it renewed. Me, too. Soon, I hope. EVE Who was that? SAM My sister. She didn't realize her passport's expired and they won't let her travel. EVE Where has she been? SAM I never really know, for sure. I get updates, but all I could figure out from the last one was "somewhere in Asia." EVE So she's not going to make the wedding? SAM It looks like it. EVE That's too bad. SAM Yeah, I really wanted her to be there, but -- Who's my next patient? EVE No one. I kept your schedule light today because I figured you and Cassie had a lot to do to get ready for the weekend. SAM Thanks. We do. I was supposed to meet her over at Grey House but there's a little too much "life" going on there. So I thought I'd just stay here at the office and do what I do on my own. Plus, when I'm here, nobody borrows my stuff. ABIGAIL I thought these meetings only happened once a month. MARTHA Unless there's special business, and this business is special. And urgent, it's about this weekend's wedding. ABIGAIL Ugh, is that all anybody cares about? MARTHA We live vicariously. Don't judge. But I finally came up with the perfect gift. I want city council to issue a formal proclamation in honor of Sam and Cassie, which I'll announce right before I present them as husband and wife. I just need everyone's approval to make it official. ABIGAIL All in favor? Yay. All opposed? Keep it to yourself. Can we go now? MARTHA No. Not until the minutes reflect our decision. And Jared's not even here to record them. JARED Madam Mayor -- MARTHA There you are. The meeting started ages ago. JARED I'm sorry. I had to dig this out of the archives room to show you. MARTHA Show me what? JARED The city manager looked into our border issue and, well -- Look. MARTHA Ah, Middleton in her early days. JARED Right when the town was founded. It shows the exact line between our city and Blairsville. MARTHA Finally, proof to push those wannabes back. JARED The boundary that was drawn right right down the center of what is now Ridgepine Drive. MARTHA I live on Ridgepine Drive. JARED The south side is and always has been a part of Middleton, the north side is part of Blairsville. ABIGAIL Which side do you live on? MARTHA Who am I, Magellan? How should I know. JARED The mayor lives on the north side. Right here. MARTHA But you said that was Blairsville. JARED It is. MARTHA My house is in Blairsville?! JARED Yes, and please try and remember, I'm simply the messenger here but non-residents of Middleton are not allowed to serve as mayor, which is why I've been instructed to strip you of your title. Please hand over your gavel. MARTHA I will do no such thing. JARED I'm sorry, Madam Mayor, but those are the rules. And there is one more thing: according to the charter, if the mayor is unable to serve, the title falls immediately to the president of the city council. MARTHA The president? ABIGAIL So that means...? JARED Mayor Pershing? The city is yours. CASSIE It's nice to see you taking a break from rolling raviolis. STEPHANIE Oh. This is my sister's fiancé. CASSIE Ryan? RYAN Ma'am. CASSIE I didn't think you could make it. EMMA His training exercise got cancelled so everyone was granted some leave. RYAN I was able to get a ride with our unit's chaplain who's visiting some friends in... Blairsview? STEPHANIE Blairsville. EMMA And then I took him out to show him the place I want us to get married and he loved it. CASSIE Middleton really is the perfect place to start a life together. LIAM Right on time, as usual. CASSIE There's the man I came here to see. EMMA Liam, would you like to join us? You could just sit right next to my sister. LIAM I would love to but Cassie and I need to go over what I'm serving at the rehearsal dinner. CASSIE We're having it here and then going to Grey House to walk through the ceremony. STEPHANIE Only four more days... EMMA Ryan and I still have to wait for what feels like forever. CASSIE I'm sure that day will be here before you even know it. But since you're both in town, why don't you join us for our rehearsal dinner? It's Thursday, at five? EMMA That sounds great. Thank you. CASSIE Everyone's been so wonderful, helping us put this wedding together. But it'll be nice when things slow down a bit and people can have more time to just be together. LIAM Shall we? CASSIE Yes. CASSIE Jared told me you were in here. MARTHA Not for much longer. CASSIE Are you doing okay? MARTHA Having lost my purpose and identity? Hardly. CASSIE You know, Martha, you're much more than just a title on the door. MARTHA Tell that to my fellow residents of Blairsville. And the worst part of it is, I won't be able to lead you in your vows. Those duties will fall to -- Mayor Pershing. CASSIE Well, Sam and I still want you to be part of the ceremony. Maybe you could do the reading that my friend, Olympia was going to do? She's got a family emergency and can't make it to the wedding. MARTHA So now I'm just a stand-in? CASSIE You'd be an important part of our celebration. MARTHA Well, I guess I could do that. CASSIE And we still want you to be at the rehearsal dinner tomorrow night. MARTHA A bit of solace for your fallen leader. Oh. I am so taking this. The new mayor can get one of her own. No, no, it is city property. It would be outright thievery to... Oh, go ahead, arrest me. I will gladly do the time! Farewell, my sanctuary. NICK Hey, is your mom here? GRACE I think she's on her way. NICK Okay, she wanted me to print-out these pictures of her and my dad to put out at the reception. GRACE I can give them to her. NICK Thank you. What are you working on? GRACE My maid of honor speech. NICK Still? GRACE I want it to be really good. And it is. Oh, that's Courtney. I been meaning to call her. Hey. Yeah, I was going to call you... GEORGE Oh, hey, Nick. NICK Grandpa. Yeah, see? It just doesn't sound right. GEORGE How's your speech coming? NICK It's not. I feel like there's so much pressure on every word. GEORGE Well, it's funny, I heard Grace typing away like it was no problem at all. NICK Well, let's see what it says... GEORGE Do you think you should be doing that? NICK I'm going to hear it, eventually. "A wedding is a day for all of us to think about love and being together and Nick stop reading my maid of honor speech..." GRACE Have you no decency? NICK Hey, you tried to get George to tell you what mine said. GRACE All I did was ask. I didn't go crawling around on your hard drive. NICK Well, I'm going to re-do my speech and make sure it's better than yours. GRACE And mine is going to have people laughing and in tears so good luck having to follow that. NICK/GRACE What? GEORGE It's just funny watching you. If I didn't know any better, I'd think the two of you had been brother and sister your entire lives. DOMINIC What's a larry-nix? SAM A what? DOMINIC A larry-nix. I was reading about it in this book about breathing. SAM A larynx. DOMINIC Yeah. What's it do? SAM The larynx is another name for your voice box. It's located in your neck, right about here. We use it when we breathe, swallow, talk. When you make a lot of noise. DOMINIC So I use mine a lot. SAM Anybody who's chasing monsters would, yeah. Are you interested in that sort of thing? Maybe becoming a doctor? DOMINIC I don't know. Everybody says you have to be so smart to be a doctor. SAM You mostly just have to remember things. DOMINIC I'm pretty good at remembering things. Like, this book was exactly right here before I borrowed it. I knew I should remember for when I put it back. SAM Well, if you can remember that, then you can certainly figure out where all the bones are in the human body. And there's a book right here that shows you all about it. DOMINIC Can I borrow this one, too? SAM You can take any of them, whenever you want. DOMINIC Thanks. SAM And you know one of the best things about being a doctor is? DOMINIC What? SAM You get to talk with all kinds of different people. DOMINIC With my larynx. SAM That's right. How long have you been standing there? CASSIE Long enough to see how nice you were treating one of my guests. SAM Well, I thought I should get used to having so many people around. CASSIE You going to be okay with that? SAM I think it's one of the things I'm going to love most about living here. CASSIE Then you should probably move in more of your stuff upstairs, at the end of the hall. I turned one of the guest rooms into a private office. Just in case you wanted some time to yourself. SAM Thank you. CASSIE Oh, and I figured out what I want to do for our honeymoon. SAM Oh, good, because I've been a little stumped. CASSIE Yeah, thanks. I want to travel around and visit all the people who can't be here at our wedding. The ones who mean so much to us. SAM Like Joanne, and Olympia. CASSIE Yeah, and my foster mother and Lori can't be here, either. SAM I'd love to see all of them. CASSIE Great. Then we can actually spend time with them, instead of just a quick visit after cutting the cake. SAM I think that sounds great. CASSIE Yeah. SAM So, this is all going to happen. Just like we've been waiting for. CASSIE Three more days. It'll be the perfect wedding. SAM And do you think we're ready for the life after that? CASSIE I do. You see how good I am at saying those two words? SAM It's like you've been practicing. CASSIE I just want you to know how much I mean it when it really counts. MARTHA Are your children joining us for dinner? CASSIE They're gonna meet us at Grey House in time to run through the ceremony. SAM They both said they needed extra time to work on their speeches. MARTHA I can't wait to see what they have to say. LIAM Hey, we should get a picture before we sit down. Amy, can you take a photo? SERVER Of course. LIAM Thanks. SAM Let's do it over here. STEPHANIE Let's put the bride and groom in the middle right next to the mayor. MARTHA Well, if you insist... Oh. Her. CASSIE Why don't you come on this side, next to me. MARTHA Thank you. SERVER Can you get closer together? Liam, you and -- LIAM Stephanie. SERVER Yeah, you really need to squeeze in. And -- There. One more - Good. Here you go. LIAM Thanks. ABIGAIL Cassie, I brought something to show you. It's not a Cyclamen, like you wanted, but I thought the color would match some of the other things that you picked out. CASSIE Those'll look really good. EMMA Where did you get that? ABIGAIL I ordered it out of a catalog. EMMA Remember? RYAN Of course. We met at a logistics seminar and had some free time, so we went for a walk in the sand dunes. EMMA There were flowers like that growing everywhere. They really are beautiful. ABIGAIL Good, because Grey House is going to be full of them. MARTHA So, you're doing the flowers and leading the ceremony? ABIGAIL A mayor's work is never done. MARTHA Oh, go ahead, rub it in... And the worst part is, now I don't have the authority to proclaim the day in honor of Cassie and Sam. Now I'll have to go buy them a blender. ABIGAIL I don't know if you need to settle on the right gift just yet. MARTHA But the wedding is the day after tomorrow. ABIGAIL Which means you still have some time to shop. DAVE Lieutenant Gathwright... RYAN Chaplain Roberts. Emma, this is Dave Roberts -- unit chaplain. DAVE It's nice to meet you. EMMA Chaplain. RYAN I thought you were in Blairsville? MARTHA Aren't we all... DAVE I was, but your C.O. called and wanted me to convey the news: you're being deployed, overseas. Both you and Captain Borden. STEPHANIE Where are they sending them? DAVE I'm sorry, we can't give out that information. But they need you to report to Jacksonville -- and you to Norfolk. Then you'll get your assignments from there. LIAM Two different places? RYAN We're in different divisions. That's how the system works. DAVE And... they wanted me to tell you that the deployments will be for a full year. STEPHANIE A year?! You guys are getting married. EMMA I guess it'll have to wait. RYAN We can reschedule for as soon as we get back. EMMA That just seems like such a long time from now. RYAN I know. What else can we do? MARTHA This is my favorite part -- when we get our first look at the bride! ABIGAIL Even I always tear up. STEPHANIE It's so incredible that you guys just gave your wedding away. SAM They needed it more than we did right now. CASSIE We're just happy we could give them exactly what they wanted. MARINE LEADER Hand salute. Ready, tu! SAM Want to go to a wedding? CASSIE I do. EMMA I give you this ring as a symbol of our love and a sign of my unending faithfulness. DAVE And now, from the groom... RYAN I give you this ring as a symbol of our love and a sign of my unending faithfulness. DAVE Do they both fit okay? EMMA Pretty good. RYAN I think so, yeah. DAVE Well, then -- by the power vested in me, and as a clerical representative of the armed services of these United States, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You can kiss now. That's an order. And now it gives me great pleasure to present to all of you Captain Emma Gathwright and Lieutenant Ryan Gathwright. MARINE LEADER Draw Swords. The Marine Corps requires a kiss to pass. RYAN I think the two of you win the prize for "Best wedding gift ever," since what you gave us was your literal wedding. SAM We're just glad you enjoyed it. EMMA We loved everything about it. The flowers, and the food -- it was all exactly what we wanted. CASSIE We were hoping it would be a day to remember forever. RYAN Oh, we'll remember. EMMA Yeah. Things couldn't have been more perfect if we had planned it for months. CASSIE Then I'm glad it all worked out. SAM It's funny how it usually does. EMMA I just hope that the two of you don't have to wait too long for your wedding for too long. SAM Oh, we won't. CASSIE I have a feeling we'll find a time and a place that's just right for the two of us. Don't you think so, Sam? SAM I do. GRACE I guess we won't be giving those speeches we spent so much time working on. NICK Not today, at least. GRACE Which will give you more time to make sure yours is as good as mine. NICK Oh, it's good. It's great. GRACE I'll be the judge of that. NICK I'm pretty sure you would have liked it. Because it was mostly about you. GRACE You were in mine, too. I re-did it after I heard what Grandpa said. I was going to say was how I happy I was, looking forward to having you as a brother. NICK And I was going to say that this is about a lot more than just my dad and your mom getting married. It's about me getting a sister that's already one of my best friends. GRACE You were seriously going to say all that? NICK I was going to start with that. GRACE You can't start with it. You have to lead into it. NICK What's wrong with starting with that? GRACE Because you need a structure -- beginning, middle, end. NICK Oh, so now you're gonna tell me how to write? GRACE Only if you want people to pay attention. LIAM Stephanie. You did a great job with the food. These raviolis are delicious. STEPHANIE Well, you can thank my grandmother for that. LIAM I would, but I'd much rather be here with you. STEPHANIE So, what's going on with us? LIAM Yeah, I was hoping to figure that out myself. STEPHANIE Look, I know I've been really busy, but I would like to get a few minutes alone with you. LIAM Really? It looks like we have a few minutes now. And actually there's something I've been wanting to do for a while, but I've been waiting for the right time to do it. STEPHANIE What was it you were hoping to do? LIAM Was that the right time? STEPHANIE What took you so long? JARED I'm sorry to interrupt the festivities but these need the mayor's approval right away. It's fiscal year-end business. Approval for police supplies and educational funds. ABIGAIL That sounds kind of important. JARED Well, you are a very important person. Thank you, I will see you at city hall. ABIGAIL Thank you. SAM Hey. So do I have to call you "Madam Mayor" now? ABIGAIL Either that or "Your Highness." I kind of like it. It's weird, once I finally decided to embrace being a Middletonian, this happened. SAM I didn't realize you had been "just visiting." ABIGAIL I was sort of living my life like that. But now, I'm here to stay. I even put an offer on a house. Your house. SAM You want to buy my house?! ABIGAIL Well, you don't need it anymore. SAM What did you offer? ABIGAIL Exactly what you asked for. SAM Sold. ABIGAIL Great. There's no rush to move out. Whenever you and Cassie decide to finally get married. I will be moving in, and then I will living right next door. SAM There goes the neighborhood. CASSIE Hello. SAM Hi. So, soon this will be us. CASSIE Can't wait. PHIL Abigail. ABIGAIL Phil? What are you doing here? PHIL I came back to see you. ABIGAIL Here I am. PHIL I was an idiot when I left. And all I've thought about since I've been gone was you. And how much I want to be with you. And how I want you with me. So would you consider it? ABIGAIL Consider what? PHIL Come back to Portland with me. That's where my business is, that's where my life is. And I realized I want you in it. ABIGAIL Phil -- PHIL You told me Middleton wasn't really your home. That there was nothing keeping you here. So walk away, and be with me. Starting right now. CASSIE Wow. It is beautiful. SAM It is. I can see why Emma and Ryan wanted to get married here. CASSIE And can you imagine it without the snow? All the colors of the season, and the sunlight glistening on the lake. This is exactly what I was hoping to find. SAM That place that you wanted to stumble upon and say, "This is it"? CASSIE That's right. This is it. SAM Well, then let's do it. CASSIE Really? SAM We're never going to stumble upon any more perfect then this. CASSIE Ryan and Emma already put a deposit down for a few months from now. That would give us all the time we need to find the flowers we want and the right food -- SAM -- and get everybody that we want to be here. CASSIE I can hardly wait for all of us to be together. SAM Me, too. So, exactly how long are we going to have to wait? CASSIE We can get married on the day it was reserved for. SAM So when's the big day going to be? CASSIE Halloween.
